A 1-minute teaser trailer has been temporarily added to the official website for Keiichi Sato’s Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary. Streaming of the teaser is apparently set to expire in the last minute of New Year’s Day.

Saint Seiya was originally a manga series by Masami Kurumada which revolved around five warriors who wear suits of mystical armor called “cloths” named after the constellations they represent. Together they’re sworn to defend the Greek goddess Athena from the other Olympian gods who want to take over Earth. The new film is based on the manga’s Sanctuary arc.

The teaser begins with a mural depicting the existence of the Saints throughout history and then shifts to a view of outer space to illustrate the scope of the story. A series of action scenes follow featuring protagonist Pegasus Seiya along with fellow Saints Dragon Shiryu, Cygnus Hyoga, Andromeda Shun, and Phoenix Ikki.

The clip ends with a famous Saint Seiya quote: “Kimi wa Kosumo o kanji ta koto ga aru ka” (Have you ever felt the cosmos?)

“Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary” will be released by Toei in Japan in early summer 2014.
