The official website for Takashi Miike’s live-action adaptation of Mogura no Uta (English title: The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji) has been updated with a 30-second teaser trailer (watch it here for higher quality video).
The film is based on a manga by Noboru Takahashi which revolves around an underachieving cop with a strong sense of justice named Reiji Kikukawa (Toma Ikuta). Kikukawa is secretly tasked with infiltrating a large criminal organization in order to destroy it from the inside.
Ikuta’s co-stars featured in the teaser include Shinichi Tsutsumi as Akogi-gumi lieutenant Masaya Hiura (aka “Crazy Papillion”), Mitsuru Fukikoshi as police chief Toshio Sakami, Ren Osugi as Akogi-gumi boss Masayoshi Ako, Takayuki Yamada as Akogi-gumi member Shun Tsukihara, Takashi Okamura as Issei Nekozawa, Yusuke Kamiji as hitman Kuroken, and Riisa Naka as female cop Junna Wakaki.
“The Mole Song: Undercover Agent Reiji” will be released in Japan on February 15, 2014.
