Koki Mitani is a Japanese director, actor, and playwright from Setagaya, Tokyo.

Born in the heyday of sumo wrestling, he was named Koki after the 48th Yokozuna, Taihō Kōki, who was generally regarded as the greatest sumo wrestler of the post-war era.
