Rosa Kato is a former Japanese actress and model from Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture. Her married name is Rosa Matsui.
Kato was introduced to modeling through a cousin while attending high school in Kagoshima.
Upon graduating, Kato moved to Tokyo to begin modeling full time. In January 2004, she appeared in a commercial for wedding magazine Zexy, which gained her a lot of attention and eventually led to many more offers. In 2006, she signed on with Sony Music Artists and almost immediately began getting big roles in TV dramas and movies, including her first starring role in Hiroshi Usui’s Ichiban Kirei na Mizu.
Kato married professional soccer player Matsui Daisuke in June 2011 and gave birth to their first son in December of that year. The couple currently reside in France.
On June 30, 2013, she ended her contract with talent agency Ken-On Group, citing family obligations. She is currently on an indefinite hiatus from the entertainment industry.

- Kato's mother is Japanese and her father is Italian. They first met at an Italian restaurant her father worked at in Yokohama. When she was 5 years old, they lived in Naples, Italy. At that time she was able to speak and understand Italian, but has since forgotten almost every word. *She was named Rosa after her paternal grandmother.
