Admiral Yamamoto (2011)
Admiral Yamamoto is a 2010 Japanese movie directed by Izuru Narushima.
This big-budget war epic was made, in part, as a more truthful account of the events surrounding the bombing of Pearl Harbor than previous efforts which bordered on nationalistic propaganda—most notably, the 1968 film of the same name starring Toshiro Mifune.

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is the man who eventually ordered the attack on Pearl Harbor. However, he was initially one of the few strong military voices in opposition to getting into a war with the US in the first place, knowing full well their military might was insurmountable.
Yamamoto, along with the Secretary of the Navy and the Adjutant General, keep the war option shelved for several months. But after the Nazis invade Poland, his two partners abandon the side of peace. When war becomes inevitable, Yamamoto devises the plan to bomb Pearl Harbor—believing a swift, decisive strike is Japan’s only chance to avoid a prolonged campaign they have no hope of winning.
