Amalfi (2009)

Amalfi is a Japanese movie directed by Hiroshi Nishitani and based on a novel by Yuichi Shinbo. It was released by Toho in Japan on July 18, 2009.

The film stars Yuji Oda as Kosaku Kuroda, a diplomat who arrives in Italy to provide security for Japanese officials after it’s learned that an upcoming G8 summit may be under threat of a large-scale attack.

When a mother named Saeko (Yuki Amami) begs for help finding her missing 8-year-old daughter, Madoka (Ayane Omori), Kuroda serves as impromptu interpreter and quickly gets involved in the situation when the kidnappers call Saeko’s phone.
