The Blood of Rebirth (2009)
The Blood of Rebirth is a Japanese movie directed by Toshiaki Toyoda and based on the famous kabuki legend of Oguri Hangan. It premiered at Montreal’s Festival du Nouveau Cinéma on October 13, 2009 and was released in Japan by Phantom Film on December 19, 2009.

The film is based on the famous kabuki legend of Oguri Hangan, who was said to have traveled to the holy land of Kumano to be resurrected after nearly dying from poison. 44-year-old musician Tatsuya Nakamura plays Oguri.
