The official website for Shinji Higuchi’s upcoming 2-part live-action adaptation of Hajime Isayama’s popular manga Attack on Titan has been updated with the visual for the theatrical poster.
The poster includes the simple tagline “The world is cruel.” and demonstrates the immense scale of a Titan in comparison to the film’s lead character, Eren (played by Haruma Miura).
In this adaptation, Titans will be 120 meters tall, making them twice as tall as they are in the original manga/anime and 12 meters taller than the modern era version of Godzilla.
The new poster is scheduled to be displayed in Japanese theaters beginning on December 20th. The official website now lists the film’s release date as August 9, 2015. The second part will follow in September.
