Plot

A radio DJ named Mao Kubota starts a radio show called “Love Letters From the Drawer” with which she helps motivate people to express their thoughts and feelings to loved ones when even simple things like “I’m sorry” or “Thank you” seem difficult.

During production, officials at Shochiku voiced hopes that the film would attain similar success as Departures, which won multiple Japanese Academy Awards, an Oscar, and earned over 3 billion yen at the box office in 2008.
