Plot
In the late 1960s, a troubled young man named Joe Yabuki who spends most of his time on the streets of Tokyo brawling and committing petty theft meets an alcoholic former boxer named Danpei Tenge who recognizes Joe’s natural boxing talent.
Unfortunately, Joe is soon arrested for assault and sent to a juvenile prison outside of the city. While there, he receives a letter from Danpei with the heading “For Tomorrow”. The letter goes on to describe the fundamental technique of the jab. From that point on, Joe begins to take his boxing seriously, eventually leading to a rivalry with pro-level boxer Toru Rikishi.
