Fruits of Faith (2013)
Fruits of Faith is a 2013 Japanese movie directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura and based on a novel by Takuji Ishikawa.
The film is based on a novel by Takuji Ishikawa which chronicles the true story of Akinori Kimura, a man who spent 10 futile years trying to grow apples without pesticides for the sake of his wife’s health before finally making a breakthrough.

Plot
Kimura marries Mieko, the daughter of an apple growing family. When they discover that Mieko is particularly sensitive to pesticides, Kimura becomes determined to find a way to grow apples organically. Unfortunately, years of toil and money spent on his plan fail to yield a single apple and the locals start to think he’s gone mad. However, when it seems as though he’s reached his lowest point, a miracle occurs…
