Plot

Inspired by the designs of Italian aeronautical engineer Gianni Caproni, Jiro dreams of designing and flying his own aircraft. However, nearsightedness precludes him from becoming a pilot. In 1927 he begins working for a Japanese aeronautical engineering company where his work makes him one of the most successful aircraft designers in the world.
