Supporting cast announced for Sion Sono's live-action "Tokyo Tribes" film

Additional cast members have been announced for Sion Sono’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Santa Inoue’s Tokyo Tribes manga, which revolves around various factions of warring urban gangs.

Back in August 2013 it was announced that Ryohei Suzuki would play Mera, the katana-wielding leader of the street gang Bukuro Wu-Ronz, and rapper YOUNG DAIS would play protagonist Kai, a DJ and member of rival gang Musashino Saru. Today a list of co-stars was posted on film’s official blog:

Takuya Ishida as Kim
Yui Ichikawa as Nori-chan
Mika Kano as Erendia
Shoko Nakagawa as KESHA
Shota Sometani as MC SHOW
Denden as Daishisai
Yosuke Kubozuka as Nkoi
Riki Takeuchi as Buppa

A third cast announcement is also planned for the near future which will include the movie’s heroine.

“Tokyo Tribes” will be released by Nikkatsu in Japan on August 30, 2014.
